Coh&Co Copenhagen was founded by Mette Walsted Kristiansen and Paul Harder Cohen. Mette and Paul both have a background in product design and development, and both have a strong history in the yachting industry. The result of their design work speaks for itself. Coh&Co has made it its mission to increase awareness among cyclists about what affects maintenance and the ownership of a bicycle. They have developed a cradle-to-grave ownership program for their products that is reflected through a unique ownership experience. Starting with the development process where they have pushed the boundaries with their sustainable material technology “Stoneweave” – they come full circle with a transferable lifetime buy-back scheme. Every registered Coh&Co bike can be recycled at the end of its functional life. Coh&Co calls this ecosystem “Recapture” and that’s why they say that they build Bicycles for Life.
Zwaan Bikes is a full-service bike shop situated less than 2 km from the Erasmus MC. Zwaan offers more than sales and acute repair services. With a Zwaan service plan, you can schedule regular preventative maintenance while you’re at work without dropping your bike off.
Zwaan Bikes started in 1990 in the cycling parking facility of Rotterdam Central Station and has since grown into a full-fledged (e-bike) bicycle shop in Groot Handelsgebouw. Zwaan Bikes sells electric bicycles between €1,500 and €11,000. They offer various leasing plans making it very interesting for everyone that wants to buy a bicycle in the store.
Not only in healthcare and teaching but also in sustainability, Erasmus MC is leading the way. They have recently opened the doors to their new building, built in a way where it generates most of its energy needs self sufficiently using cutting edge technologies, removing the original hospital which dates out of the ’60s is being done in a completely sustainable way too. Instead of the usual way of blowing up a building, the old structure is completely taken apart and all the materials from sinks to bricks are being re-purposed. This is a new and sustainable way of building demolition and we at Coh&Co wholeheartedly support innovations like this and make it easy for us to want to work together with a great organization like Erasmus MC.
